Last updated on FEBRUARY 15, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle iPlanet Web Server - Version 6.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Here is information on how an instance of the Oracle iPlanet web server can be configured so that, when a user issues a request for a directory to the web server, the directory's contents will not be displayed in the user's browser.

For example, if a sub-directory, dir1/, of the web server's document root directory does not contain an index.html file, and a user issues a request to http(s)://<web server hostname>:<web server port>/<path to dir1/>, without the configuration suggested in this article, the user will see a listing of the contents of the dir1/ directory.
