Goal
Here is information on how an instance of the Oracle iPlanet web server can be configured so that, when a user issues a request for a directory to the web server, the directory's contents will not be displayed in the user's browser.
For example, if a sub-directory, dir1/, of the web server's document root directory does not contain an index.html file, and a user issues a request to http(s)://<web server hostname>:<web server port>/<path to dir1/>, without the configuration suggested in this article, the user will see a listing of the contents of the dir1/ directory.
