WebCenter Portal 'Edit with Excel' Option does not Open The XLS Document In Excel (Doc ID 1303905.1)

Symptoms

When working with Firefox, editing an .XLS document does not open the document in MS Excel.

Using another browser works.

The problem was reproduced on Windows with Office 2007

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Login to WebCenter using "<ADMIN>" account.

  2. Navigate to Documents Tab.

  3. Select an .xls file.

  4. Select File > Edit with Excel.

MS Excel does not get invoked at all.  There is just no response on clicking 'Edit with Excel'.
