WCI Crawler And/Or Document Refresh Jobs Fail Intermittently (Doc ID 1305718.1)

Symptoms

After the Document Refresh or Crawler jobs have run for a while they may fail intermittently with the error in the job log similar to the example below. There may be several different reasons for this type of output in the job log and this article is meant to be applicable in the case where once this error begins to occur there it will continue to error for each remaining card until all have been processed.  If this error is thrown sporadically in the job log then this article may not apply.

Error refreshing card "<FILE_NAME> (with id 2920577, and document URL http://<PORTALSERVER>/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_2920577_0_0_18/Compression%20Unit%20is%20not%20Responding)

Server was unable to process request. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
