Symptoms

In WLS10.3.1 and above, when sending a request to a Webservice with following HTTP header Content-Type you may run into below exception:
Http Header Content-type:
"Content-Type: application/soap+xml; charset=UTF-8; action=urn:handleResponse"
Error message seen:
<Jan 28, 2011 2:57:03 PM EST> <Error> <HTTP> <BEA-101108> <[ServletContext@9073106[app:ups module:ups path:/ups spec-version:2.5]] Unsupported encoding: "UTF-8; action=urn:handleResponse" specified.
java.io.UnsupportedEncodingException: Unsupported Encoding UTF-8; action=urn:handleResponse
at weblogic.servlet.internal.ServletRequestImpl.setCharacterEncodingInternal(ServletRequestImpl.java:436)
at weblogic.servlet.internal.ServletRequestImpl.initRequestEncoding(ServletRequestImpl.java:1155)
