"Expected Hexadecimal Digit" Javascript Error Received when Editing or Viewing a Folio for External Users' Whose Username Starts with a 'U'

Symptoms
When trying to edit or view a Content Folio for an external users, whose username starts with "u" (e.g.: TEST\utest) the following javascript error message is reported :
"Expected hexadecimal digit".
1- Set up Content Server
2- Create a folio with some nodes
3- Create a user starting with "u" and a domain (e.g.: "TEST\utest")
4- Log on with the created user
5- Search for the folio
6- Open the folio (edit or view)
