Installing ADF Runtime into WebLogic 11g Using the JDeveloper Installer
(Doc ID 1311010.1)
Last updated on MARCH 03, 2021
Applies to:
Oracle JDeveloper - Version 11.1.1.1.0 to 11.1.1.5.0 [Release Oracle11g]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
The goal of this note is to install the JRF Runtime in WebLogic Server (WLS) 10.3.1 and later, which includes the ADF runtime libraries, from the JDeveloper installer, instead of the method of using the Application Development Runtime (ADR) installer as described in:
Note 853789.1 : Installing ADF Runtime and Oracle Enterprise Manager on Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g R1
and
Note 1094153.1 : Installing ADF 11.1.1.3 Runtime into WebLogic 11gR1 Patchset 2 (10.3.3)
Since the installer of the Application Development Runtime contains binary components, it might be unsuitable to use on certain operating systems/environments, in contrast with the generic, 100% Java installer of JDeveloper that only requires a proper JDK version to run.
The procedure is also simpler, since the previous versions of the runtime don't need to be installed first.
