WCI: Sharepoint Console Crawler Does Not Work When Target Path Is Configured With Trailing Forward Slash ('/') (Doc ID 1314173.1)

Symptoms

When you create a new Sharepoint Console Crawler and, in the crawler configuration settings for Sharepoint Site URL, you specify a URL with a trailing forward slash ("/"), clicking on the "Validate" button in the Sharepoint crawler editor causes a 404 error. Also, when you attempt to run the crawler job, the crawler job fails and generates a stack trace similar to the following in a PTSpy capture filtered for the automation service:
