This functionality has been available since Java 6u2 (Solaris) and 6u13 (Linux) on Sparc and x86 systems that use Non-Uniform Memory Architecture (NUMA). Windows is not supported.
The following systems use NUMA:
E6900 (Sparc)
X4600 / X4640 (Opteron)
CMT T5140 and T5240.

Only the Parallel GC (-XX:+UseParallelGC -XX:+UseParallelOldGC) is supported.
Other garbage collectors are not supported.
