Email Notification Not Working After Enabling It From BPM Process Administrator (Doc ID 1315335.1)

Symptoms

In BPM 10.3.x, after enabling "Notify by e-mail when new instances arrive" checkbox, notification emails do not seem to be sent to participants. This happens only to participants who have this property enabled earlier and are enabled on fly when engine is running.

Changes

The engine used to load all the users and calculate all the roles during startup, but this was impacting performance severely. Therefore, since 10.3.2 the Engine calculates roles on demand.

Now, the engine only sends notifications to participants that have their roles calculated in engine's cache. Participants who have not logged in into Workspace will not be loaded into the cache and, therefore, notifications will not be sent to them.
