Goal

As of now there isn't an XMPP presence adapter for WebCenter Spaces.

There is already an enhancement request for this:

<Bug 12377529> - NEED AN AN XMPP ADAPTER FOR WEBCENTER SPACES

In the absence of an XMPP presence adapter you can expose the presence of your users over a URL and build a presence network agent (PNA) which understands the URL and how to process each user's presence from that URL.

PNA agents work based on the IM address. So in spaces if you go to preferences and set your IM Address to be XYZ@yahoo.com, then the IMP Service will consult all the registered PNA Agents if anyone can handle this IM Address Presence, if so, then it will delegate to the respective agent. If you register a new PNA agent where you identify every user presence with domain as "<DOMAIN>com" then your PNA Agent will kick-in for handling the presence for users IM address like "XYZ@<DOMAIN>  .com".

This documents explains how integrate your custom presence network agent (PNA) into Webcenter Spaces.
