Workarea Refresh Produces CDR-01062 Error (Doc ID 1316848.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 27, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Designer - Version: 10.1.2.3 and later   [Release: Designer 10g and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Attempts to either refresh (recompile) or delete a workarea raise an error and the process is aborted.

Error
------
CDR-01062 Compilation leaves Table Definition [table_name] orphaned. Need to include container [container_name]/[table_name].

This condition can occur for any type of object.

However, the objects referenced in the error message were deleted from the repository. It appears that objects in the workarea are referring to nonexistent objects in the repository.

You have checked the Global Wastebasket and the Lost+Found and could not locate the offending object.  When you run the External References utility you see the reason for the invalid reference is "Not In Repository," meaning that although the object does not exist anywhere in the repository, the workarea retains a reference to it.
