JRrockit 28.0.1 Limitation with Memory Areas for Classloading on Solaris Leading to OOM (Doc ID 1318184.1)

Symptoms

When using JRockit R28.0.1 on Solaris Operating System, the following java.lang.OutOfMemoryError can show up:

<[ServletContext@342438833[app:XXXXXX] Root cause of ServletException.
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: class allocation, 52877504 loaded, 50M footprint in check_alloc (classalloc.c:213) 332 bytes requested.
Java heap 2G reserved, 2G committed
Paged memory=18014398505529200K/25165816K.
Your Java heap size might be set too high.
Try to reduce the Java heap
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClassCond(ClassLoader.java:632)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:616)
at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:141)
at weblogic.utils.classloaders.GenericClassLoader.defineClass(GenericClassLoader.java:343)


This indicates an issue with class loading memory area.
