Content Check In Fails with the Error: "Content Id Is Not Unique" (Doc ID 1320842.1)

Symptoms

While checking in a new content, the system throws an error stating that the Content Id not unique.

The error returned on the CS page is:

Content Server Request Failed Content item 'ID_048509' was not successfully checked in. The content ID 'ID_48509' is not unique.


In the Content Server log the following exception is received:
