Delay To Open Password Reset Enrollment And Reset Client URLs (Doc ID 1322564.1)

Symptoms

The ESSO Password Reset web server takes ~50+ seconds to display the enrollment and/or the password reset pages the first time a user attempts to access the enrollment client or the reset client after IIS is reset or the server is restarted. The delay occurs under all of the following scenarios:

1. Access the enrollment client or reset client URLs in a web browser directly on the server. Even using localhost or the IP address for the server in the URL reproduces the issue.
2. Attempting to access the reset client using the GINA banner on a workstation with the ESSO-PR client installed.
3. Accessing the URLs from the IE browser on a workstation using either the hostname or FQDN of the server in the URL.
4. The delay was also noticed sometimes while attempting to access the pages for the first time in a new browser session.

The response time for each page significantly decreases on subsequent attempts to access the enrollment and reset clients after the delay is experienced. However, the delay occurs again after resetting IIS or restarting the server.
