Unable to Edit Office 2010 Documents from WebCenter Spaces: "Edit In Word" / "Edit In Excel" does not open the Document (Doc ID 1324051.1)

Symptoms


When attempting to edit a document using Office 2010, the proper application opens (e.g. Excel or Word) but no documents are loaded.
This works fine if using Office 2007.


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
 

  1. Having a document uploaded to Spaces, click on the document link.
    This should bring the Document Explorer.

  2. Click on "Edit with Excel" or "Edit with Word" depending on the type of document.
    This opens Excel or Word but the document is not loaded.
