OID 11g - Slow OAM Login Performance With OID With Dangling DNs And Users Who Are Members of a Large Number of Groups (Doc ID 1324606.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 13, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

There can be multiple causes for performance issues in Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g.

This Note's scenario entails Dangling DN entries existing in OID, and OID users who are members of a large number of groups, for example, using Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 10g / 10.1.4.3 integrated with WebLogic and OID 11.1.1.2.0.

After adding several (about 150) groups to OID, experiencing performance issues and delays with logins to WebLogic portal done via OAM.

Users that are members of a large number of groups (i.e., more than 50 groups) can take more than one minute to login.

Users that are members of fewer number of groups (i.e., around five or less) do not experience the problem and their login time is significantly smaller.  For example, for a user member of a single group, the login takes just one second.
