Purpose

There are a number of resources available to the command line for administration of the ODSEE. If your environment is set properly, you can take advantage of them.

Regardless of if you are managing a single instance or managing many directory server instances on the same host, using this approach to set the environment of the shell you are in can speed up time to getting tasks completed as well.

Scope

The following examples provide a reference for setting the user environment, please see the directory server administration guide and man page reference guide for actual overview of the command line features of the ODSEE.

This document assumes you are using the ZIP distribution, you need to review you paths if you are using the Package based installation of the DS.
