Cannot Scroll Using Layout Customizable in Edit Mode (Doc ID 1325845.1)

Last updated on MARCH 16, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Editing a WebCenter Portal page with a layoutCustomizable added does not show vertical scrollbar when the content overflows, so it is impossible to see the bottom of the page and make changes to that.
When changing to view mode then the scrollbar is displayed and works correctly.

The same page without the layoutCustomizable works fine, the scrollbar is there in edit mode too.

Steps to reproduce the problem
==============================
1. Create a new WebCenter Portal

2. It gets created with a page called home.jspx. Make the following changes to the code:

a. Remove the
panelCustomizable

b. Add a layoutCustomizable under the pageCustomizable so that the code looks like this:

5. Add this new page to the page hierarchy

6. Execute the application

7. Login as weblogic

8. Edit home.jspx

9. Add 4 Web Development -> Web Page objects to one of the regions
There is no need to change the source, the default will do.

10. Notice that the content overflows vertically, but there is no scrollbar. - !This is the issue!

11. Close the edit mode to go back to View mode, and note that the scrollbar is there.

12. Change to the other page (simple)

13. Edit the page

14. Add 4 Web Development -> Web Page objects to one of the regions
There is no need to change the source, the default will do.

Notice that there is a scrollbar even in edit mode as expected.

15. Click on Close to go back to View mode, and the scollbar is still there.
