Symptoms

Operations error when running ldapsearch and ldapmodify against the server. Now all apps that require Directory server authentication are failing in the environment.

# ./ldapsearch -b o=REALM -D "cn=DS_ADMIN" -j ******* uid=userOne-j

ldap_search: Operations error

Also: ldapmodify command, the answer is the following:

ldap_modify: Operations error

Because of this behavior, all applications experience failures in authentication against directory services in the environment.

Using ldapsearch or ldapmodify to bind as DS_ADMIN  does not work either.
