Coherence Questions About Cache Service Threads (Doc ID 1327438.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 18, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Coherence - Version 3.5.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Q1:
Is there a way to create more service threads by creating additional Invocation Services?

Q2:
Is the service thread coupled 1-to-1 to the receiving multicast/unicast port. Is this true?

Q3:
Does each service have its own service thread? In other words, I could partition the work across more than 1 services and gain parallel performance that way? Does this work for ALL Coherence services? e.g. DistributedCacheService, InvocationService, etc ?

Q4:
Say, for example, I create 2 Invocation Services, called "MyInvServ1" and "MyInvServ2". How many total threads are handling the de-serialization for both "MyInvServ1" and "MyInvServ2"?
