How to Run Multiple Weblogic Portal Domains Using Pointbase Database of Single Physical Machine (Doc ID 1329388.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 06, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Portal - Version 9.2.0 to 10.3.2 [Release Weblogic Platform to AS10gR3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

WebLogic Portal (WLP) does not allow the same database (schema) instance to be shared between domains; hence it is required to have each domain point to its own schema. However while using Pointbase database, the domain creation wizard defaults to the Pointbase db port 9093. This restricts more than one WLP domain to be run in single physical machine as both the domains would end up listening on the same Pointbase database instance of port 9093.

So, how to create / run multiple portal domains on the same machine using Pointbase as the database?
