Symptoms

When using WLS 9.2.2 with IBM JDK 1.5.0 SR5 on AIX 5.2 and then trying to connect from WLS to a remote server using 2-way SSL with the protocol set to -Djava.protocol.handler.pkgs=com.ibm.net.ssl.www2.protocol, it failed with the following error:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sun.net.www.protocol.https.Handler
SOAPFaultException - FaultCode [{http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server] FaultString [sun.net.www.protocol.https.Handler] FaultActor [null] Detail [<detail>java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sun.net.www.protocol.https.Handler</detail>]; nested exception is:
javax.xml.rpc.soap.SOAPFaultException: sun.net.www.protocol.https.Handler
