How to Schedule The CleanupAgent To Run On Specific Days Of The Week (Doc ID 1332903.1)

Last updated on MAY 06, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Content Services - Version: 10.2.0.0.0 to 10.2.1.0.22 - Release: AS10gR3 to AS10gR3
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

By default, the CleanupAgent performs cleanup tasks at an interval (e.g. every X hours), without being able to specify the actual date or day. This could cause cleanup jobs to initiate at times when the system is already under load. You may want to divert certain cleanup tasks less often or on times of low activity such as weekend days.

This note explains how to configure the tasks of the CleanupAgent to run only on a specific day of the week every week, or on a specific day every 2 weeks or any other multiple of weeks. This gives you more flexibility in specifying the base time/date when the agent should first start.

The Cleanup Agent performs a variety of cleaning tasks on a periodic basis, including:
- purging the Trash directories
- recalculating Site Quota's
- cleaning up expired Archive items
...
