Information in this document applies to any platform.

Customers report that they are seeing a garbage collection (GC) pause which is too long, causing the application to work abnormally and respond slowly. The GC log showed that the GC time was spent in compaction. The compaction reason is 16, which means that the memory collected was less than 10%. In the heap dump, most of the memory was held by HTTP sessions. From the status page in the WLS admin console for session usage, we see that the application established > 200,000 sessions.

The application is an service application, which serves a high volume of requests. But this application does not need to keep state between client and server.
