Impacts of the Name Change Of EDQP (Legacy OPDQ Or SilverCreek) on SR Creation (Doc ID 1335463.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 08, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data - Version 5.6.1 to 11.1.1.6.0 [Release 5.0 to 11]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

The Oracle Product Data Quality solution is now part of a larger suite of products known as Oracle Enterprise Data Quality. As a result of this transition and to align with the family of data quality capabilities, Oracle Product Data Quality will now be known as Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data with two separate product names shown on the Oracle Price list:

Oracle Enterprise Data Quality Product Data Parsing and Standardization, which corresponds to "Oracle Product Data Quality" without the match and merge functionality,

Oracle Enterprise Data Quality Product Data Match and Merge, which corresponds to "Oracle Product Data Quality" including the match and merge functionality.

The product will continue to be packaged as one installation called "Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data", but the "Oracle Enterprise Data Quality Product Data Match and Merge" functionality will need to be enabled on the server. Both new customers who have purchased the matching functionality and existing customers who upgrade from the current release, Oracle Product Data Quality, will need to enable the matching functionality from the server then restart the server for it to take effect. The matching functionality is off by default.

The "Oracle Enterprise Data Quality Product Data Match and Merge" consists of the matching widgets in the Application Studio's Data Service Application (DSA): Attribute Match, Attribute Match2, Ngram Match, and Dedup. If the matching functionality is not enabled then the widgets will be grayed out and the user will receive an error when attempting to use them and / or with the execution of a DSA that contains them.
