Symptoms

After deploying the Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Console you can login to the Console in your web browser. 

If you then click on one of the names on the left-hand side menu, a warning message is displayed with the following:

Message: Object expected
Line: 379
Char: 1
Code: 0
URI: http://<HOSTNAME>:<PORT>/odiconsole/afr/partition/ie/default/opt/core-11.1.1.5.0-1095.js


If you subsequently click OK and then proceed to Topology on the right-hand side window, the application hangs.

Changes

The issue is with the Internet Explorer 8 web browser and the enabling of the native XMLHTTP support in the Advanced Options.
