Goal

How does one redirect a URL to a specific APEX application.

For example, by default apex is configured so that http://machine.domain:port/pls/apex resolves to ->
http://machine.domain:port/pls/apex/f?p=4550:1:####   where #### represents session ID.
The sequence 4550:1 stands for application ID 4550 page 1 which is the APEX Builder main page

How does one do the same for a custom application, so the same url will resolve do a different application?
