Issue Creating Oamauthenticator Provider For Oracle Access Manager Authenticator With Weblogic (Doc ID 1345464.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Weblogic Server - Version 10.3.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

While trying to configure the OAM authenticator with WebLogic Server for FWM 11.1.1.3, for the first time, everything works fine.
However, if the part of the authenticator is deleted from the config.xml, a try to re-create it gives the blank page for the common and provider specific settings page for the newly created authenticator.

Steps to Follow to reproduce the problem:

1. Confirm the location of required JAR files in the following Fusion Middleware path:

ORACLE_INSTANCE/modules/oracle.oamprovider_11.1.1/oamAuthnProvider.jar

2. Place this jar file into WebLogic Servers mbeantypes folder

3. Locate the console-extension WAR file in the following path:

ORACLE_INSTANCE/modules/oracle.oamprovider_11.1.1/oamauthenticationprovider.war

4. Copy the WAR file to the following path in the WebLogic Server home:

WL_HOME/server/lib/console-ext/autodeploy/oamauthenticationprovider.war

5. Create the OAM authenticator and click on the newly created authenticator : you would be able to see that common and provider specific tab. :

below snippet gets added to the config.xml file.

******
<sec:authentication-provider xmlns:ext="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security/extension" xsi:type="ext:oam-authenticatorType">
<n1:name xmlns:n1="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security">OAM Authenticator</n1:name>
<n2:control-flag xmlns:n2="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security">OPTIONAL</n2:control-flag>
</sec:authentication-provider>
******

6. Remove the part of the authenticator (which was added after performing step 5) from the config.xml and restart the server: try to recreate the authenticator by following the same process.

below snippet has to be removed :

*********
<sec:authentication-provider xmlns:ext="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security/extension" xsi:type="ext:oam-authenticatorType">
<n1:name xmlns:n1="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security">OAM Authenticator</n1:name>
<n2:control-flag xmlns:n2="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security">OPTIONAL</n2:control-flag>
</sec:authentication-provider>
**********

7. Click on the newly created authenticator to configure it: you will see that the common and provider specific page looks blank.
