WLS 9.2.3 - INAPPROPRIATE EXCEPTION HANDLING LEADING TO OUTOFMEMORYERROR
Last updated on NOVEMBER 05, 2016
Applies to:Oracle Weblogic Server - Version 9.2 to 10.3.4
Information in this document applies to any platform.
If EJBException is thrown on the deep level of EJB calls and is wrapped in EJBException on the intermediate levels, then it results in huge final exception which cannot be correctly handled by WebLogic server and leads to excessive GC activities and OutOfMemory errors - if exception is thrown on 8th level of nested calls, then final exception by itself is 80 megabytes and memory consumed by WebLogic to handle it at one moment is about 600 megabytes.
