Last updated on NOVEMBER 05, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle GlassFish Server - Version: 8.1 to 3.0 - Release: 8.1 to 3.0
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

If you are using an older version of GlassFish Server or Sun Java System Application Server your deployment descriptors may contain www.sun.com in them.  This document explains the affect of using deployment descriptors that have the domain name www.sun.com in them when the sun.com domain is retired.

Here is a sample sun-web.xml file:

<!DOCTYPE sun-web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD
GlassFish Application Server 3.0 Servlet 3.0//EN"
"http://www.sun.com/software/appserver/dtds/sun-web-app_3_0-0.dtd">
<sun-web-app>
<session-config>
<session-manager/>
</session-config>
<resource-ref>
<res-ref-name>mail/Session</res-ref-name>
<jndi-name>mail/Session</jndi-name>
</resource-ref>
<jsp-config/>
</sun-web-app>
