How Do I Set The Default MIME Type In WebLogic Server? (Doc ID 1348082.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 16, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Web applications running in WebLogic Server.

Goal

You want to define a new extension ".myext" for files the application is using, such as "file.myext". You want to define the mapping of the new extension to a file type in WebLogic Server.  Likewise, you may need a way to tell WebLogic Server to handle static files as a certain file type by default.  For example, if an application generates flat files without any extensions, and clients get these files using WebLogic server, the application may want WebLogic server to serve them as plain text instead of html.
