OGG Displaying Incorrect Status from Inactive Node (Doc ID 1350133.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle GoldenGate - Version 11.1.1.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

We have installed OGG v11.1.1.1.0 on OEL 5 with ACFS disk for a 2 node Oracle RAC v11.2.0.1 database. OGG was install on the shared ACFS disk and is visible to both nodes independent of any particular server availability.

OGG MGR is registered with the Oracle Clusterware using VIP. We are using Clusterware crsctl to start/stop the OGG MGR. MGR with AUTORESTART/AUTOSTART successfully starts REPLICAT on the node that is available during failover and Clusterware crstat shows the processes running.

On the running node, GGSCI also shows the proper status:

GGSCI> info all

MANAGER RUNNING
REPLICAT RUNNING rp1
REPLICAT RUNNING rp2

But when logged on to the other node, which is looking at the same filesystem, GGSCI shows the status as abended:

GGSCI> info all

MANAGER STOPPED
REPLICAT ABENDED rp1
REPLICAT ABENDED rp2

Why is the status abended and how can we correct it so GGSCI displays the same status from either node?
