Symptoms

An end user receives the error "There is no installed logon method that can satisfy this application" and Enterprise Single Sign-on Logon Manager (ESSO-LM) fails to start.

Changes

This error can be encountered after a user's ESSO-LM installation is updated on one machine and not another machine that the user logs in to.  It can also be encountered when a user's primary logon method is set to Authentication Manager and the underlying authentication methods no longer include the method the user's credential store is keyed to.
