How to Set the platformClassName for a Database Adapter Connecting to a non-Oracle Database (Doc ID 1353982.1)

Goal

Setting platformClassName is mandatory if you are using advanced database features that are not uniform across databases, such as native sequencing or stored procedures.

By default, the SOA demo connection is set to use org.eclipse.persistence.platform.database.Oracle10Platform (the platformClassName for Oracle 10g + databases.).

If you are connecting to a Microsoft SQL Server or other non-Oracle database and have created edited the connection factory using the instructions in the documentation, you'll need to perform the additional steps shown below to update the connection with the relevant platformClassName.
