'Could Not Reserve Enough Space for Object Heap' - Domain Fails to Start in Oracle GlassFish Server When Using 32 Bit JVM (Doc ID 1357029.1)

Oracle Glassfish Server fails to start on Windows when heap size is set greater than 2GB and you are using a 32-bit JVM. The domain fails to start with the error:

# asadmin.bat start-domain <domain name>
Waiting for DAS to start. Error starting domain: <domain name>.
This server exited prematurely with exit code 1.
Before it died, it produced the following output:

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the java virtual machine

Command start-domain failed
