On Java CAPS 5.1.3 Update 4 when using the JMS C API, if a connection is closed and then reopened the connection remains ESTABLISHED according to netstat. This results in the number of TCP/IP connections increasing.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Start the STCMS IQ Manager.
  2. Run the following command at a command prompt:
netstat -an | grep <IQ Manager port number>
  1. Run a program that opens a connection to the IQ Manager, closes it and then reopens it without quitting.
  2. Repeat step 2 and you will see more ports open in the ESTABLISHED state.
