Symptoms

This note addresses a problem associated with the error:

Could not connect to watchdog socket /tmp/<server-instance>/webservd-wdog.socket (Not connected)

where <server-instance> is the web server instance that encounters the error. This problem is normally only observed when the web server is running on Linux.
