Unable to login to Directory Server 5.2 Administration Console Due to Admin Server Host Account Password Expiration (Doc ID 1364129.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to log in to directory server administration console, there is an error, "Cannot logon because of an incorrect user ID, incorrect password, or directory problem" When reviewing the errors log from within the Admin Server, we see

[28/Sep/2011:13:55:28] security ( 8531): for host hosta.example.com trying to GET /admin-serv/authenticate, admin40_host_ip_check reports: Unauthorized host ip=::ffff:10.0.0.5, connection rejected


From the DS instance access log, it reports the following kind of error

[28/Oct/2011:12:53:33 -0700] conn=126 op=0 msgId=1 - BIND dn="cn=admin-serv-hosta, cn=Administration Server, cn=Server Group, cn=hosta.example.com, ou=example.com, o=NetscapeRoot" method=128 version=2

[28/Oct/2011:12:53:33 -0700] conn=126 op=0 msgId=-1 - closing - U1
