WebCenter Spaces Not Recognizing Active Directory Information and Users Fail To Login "oracle.ods.virtualization.engine.util.DirectoryException: LDAP Error 49" (Doc ID 1364404.1)

Symptoms

An Active Directory Authentication Provider has been set-up in the WLS security realm, and the users and groups appear in the respective pages in the realm. When the Identity Store is 'virtualized' in Enterprise Manager, no user can login to WebCenter Spaces.

The following error is reported in the WC_Spaces logs:
