Kiosk Manager Authentication Sometimes Replace Netbios By Dns Name In Ldap Auth (Doc ID 1364510.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 17, 2011

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite - Version: 11.1.1.5.0 and later   [Release: 11g and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The LDAP Authenticator in ESSO-LM fails to correctly identify the domain name for Active Directory when the Domain Name Support is enabled and the DNS domain name is different from the NetBIOS domain name. This causes an issue in Kiosk Manager because the user name is prepended with the wrong domain name and therefore results in a failed authentication attempt when logging onto the Kiosk system. The issue still occurs even when the Default Domain Name value within the LDAP Authenticator configuration is configured to use the NetBIOS domain name. Users cannot authenticate without manually changing the username value in the LDAP Authentication prompt to use the correct domain.
