Deinstalling a FMW 11g OID Instance Does Not Clean Up the OID Database Schema
(Doc ID 1364623.1)
Last updated on APRIL 28, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 11.1.2.0.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When deinstalling a configured Oracle Internet Directory (OID) instance from Oracle Identity Management 11g the file-based instance directory is removed, but the related configuration in the Database 'ODS' schema is not deleted.
This means that any future configuration increments the instance count to take account of deleted instances.
Example:
1. Configure instance idm1. In the ODS schema oid1 is created.
2. Configure instance idm2. In the ODS schema oid2 is created.
3. Deinstall idm2. oid2 is not deleted from the ODS schema.
4. Reconfigure instance idm2. In the ODS schema oid3 is created.
So now on the file system idm1 and idm 2 exist, but in the ODS schema oid1, oid2 and oid3 all exist.
1. Configure instance idm1. In the ODS schema oid1 is created.
2. Configure instance idm2. In the ODS schema oid2 is created.
3. Deinstall idm2. oid2 is not deleted from the ODS schema.
4. Reconfigure instance idm2. In the ODS schema oid3 is created.
So now on the file system idm1 and idm 2 exist, but in the ODS schema oid1, oid2 and oid3 all exist.
