"Cannot recover key" Error When Starting Oracle GlassFish Server HTTPS Listener (Doc ID 1365323.1)

Symptoms

On GlassFish 2.1.x and 3.x,  when attempting to start the GlassFish Server the following error occurs in the server.log:

The issue normally happens when a new SSL certificate is added to the Java Security KeyStore (JKS) and a HTTPS listener is configured to use this SSL certificate.
