How to Monitor Runtime SOA Performance with the Dynamic Monitoring Service (DMS)
(Doc ID 1368291.1)
Last updated on MAY 15, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle SOA Suite - Version 11.1.1.5.0 to 11.1.1.7.0 [Release 11gR1]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
To demonstrate how the Dynamic Monitoring Service or 'DMS' can be used to monitor SOA performance.
In this example we will monitor BPEL composites for any instances that run longer than 25 seconds. When this event occurs we will fire off an alert and automatically trigger a Diagnostic Framework (DFW) Incident including several diagnostic dumps.
We will:
- View available DMS metrics at runtime
- Configure the WLDF (WebLogic Diagnostic Framework) Watch
- Run a BPEL process that will exceed our 25 second threshold
- View the Alert and generated Incident
Additional information on DMS itself can be found here.
