How to Prevent Process Instance Creation Even when the User has not Taken Any Action on the Human Task? (Doc ID 1368698.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Business Process Management Suite - Version 11.1.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

We have couple of BPM applications that are initiated by user task with initiator pattern. We find that the task and the process instance are created upon clicking the link of the application in Business Process Workspace even though the user closes the form without taking any action.

Sometimes the user just opens the form by clicking the application link to take a look and does not mean to  create an instance. But due the issue, the user has the instance and the task created in the user’s task list while the user is not even aware of this.

How to solve the issue so that only when the user submits the form then the process instance is created and task is generated?
