Error Scanning Capture Batch: "4405: Scanner is not responding, check card, power and cables" (Doc ID 1370611.1)

When attempting to create a batch in Scan for ISIS with a profile configured to use a scanner an error is returned.  However there are no errors returned when selecting the profile or while selecting the scanner in Manage Scan Profiles.  The error returned while scanning is:

Error: 4405
The following error was encountered while scanning a batch.
4405: Scanner is not responding, check card, power and cables.
