How To Find A Native Memory Leak In Oracle iPlanet Web Server 6.1 Running On Solaris (Doc ID 1371075.1)

Last updated on JULY 12, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle iPlanet Web Server - Version 6.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

If continuous growth is observed in the memory being used by the Oracle iPlanet Web Server then the cause of the memory leak needs to be determined in order to fix the problem. If the memory usage of the iPlanet Web Server process is continuously growing without stopping, and if the Java heap usage is not growing, then it is likely a native memory leak. Sometimes third-party NSAPI plugins may cause a memory leak in iPlanet Web Server, so it is important to identify the root cause of the memory leak.
