Last updated on JULY 20, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle GoldenGate - Version 4.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) Replicat abends with Database errors such as Oracle DB errors ORA-01403, ORA-00001, etc.

The Replicat abends with a Oracle GoldenGate error (OGG-) and also displays a database error.
When the replicat abends with a database error it usually abends with messages in the report file as a Mapping error,

example:

GGS ERROR 218 Error mapping from POWERON.PO_ELEC_ADJACENCY to POWERON.PO_ELEC_ADJACENCY.

In order to determine whether this is due to a database error, scan the report for warnings where a database error is displayed.
The example below show warnings, errors and a final abend error :

GGS WARNING 218 Aborted grouped transaction on 'POWERON.PO_ELEC_ADJACENCY', Database error 100 (retrieving bind info for query).
GGS WARNING 218 Repositioning to rba 163614680 in seqno 2.
GGS WARNING 218 SQL error 1403 mapping POWERON.PO_ELEC_ADJACENCY to POWERON.PO_ELEC_ADJACENCY.
GGS WARNING 218 Repositioning to rba 163617424 in seqno 2.

GGS ERROR 218 Error mapping from POWERON.PO_ELEC_ADJACENCY to POWERON.PO_ELEC_ADJACENCY.

In the above example the main cause of this abend is SQL error 1403, which is 'data not found'. In this specific example, replicat was trying to update a row and could not find it in the target database.
