Oracle iPlanet Web Server Prevents Access to SAP URLs with "uri-clean reports: CORE4393: malformed path" Warning (Doc ID 1371443.1)

Symptoms

On iPlanet Web Server 7.x, when attempting to access a URL that is generated from SAP portal, say, "/sap/bc/webdynpro/SAP/xxxxx;sap-ext-sid=xxxxx~*/path", a warning as shown below may occur in the web server errors log:


The request in turn will be denied with a HTTP status code of 403 as seen from the web browser.
