Changing Procedure in Oracledb Causes SOA Partnerlinks to Fail with "Invalid Datatype" Exception (Doc ID 1372766.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 06, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Platform - Version 11.1.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

If a stored procedure in an Oracle database is modified using CREATE OR REPLACE, then a SOA Partnerlink which invokes it fails with an exception:

java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00902: invalid datatype

It is not necessary for the parameters, related definitions, or the text of the stored procedure to change.

What causes this behavior? What can be done to recover from the exception so that the Partnerlink can invoke the Stored Procedure without throwing an exception?
