Starting OGG Using a User Different From the DBFS Mount Point Owner

Goal

This document explains the steps required to start OGG with a different user than the one that owns your DBFS mount point in an Exadata configuration. It takes in consideration the example in the Apendix of the Agent script provided in the following document:

If you are not following those instructions you will very likely encounter following errors:

ERROR OGG-01091 Unable to open file "/Golden_Gate/ggate/extract/dbm/ea000003" (error 13, Permission denied).
WARNING OGG-01525 Failed to open trace output file, 'gglog-DBM_EA.dmp', error 13 (Permission denied).
INFO OGG-01517 Position of first record processed for Thread 2, Sequence 20, RBA 141393424, SCN 0.3301140, Nov 4, 2011 5:18:09 PM.
ERROR OGG-01668 PROCESS ABENDING.
